Division of Armour & Protection System
Division of Armour & Protection Systems (DAPS) is mostly concerned with the analysis, modelling and characterisation of materials and systems for crashworthiness, personal, vehicle and infrastructure protection, terminal ballistics and blast-wave protection. DAPS is an active group of young, enthusiastic and competent researchers from undergraduate to PhDs. Finite element numerical analysis is complemented with experimental work. For this purpose, DAPS is equipping a laboratory that will allow us to perform
ballistic impact tests, characterisation of materials (static and dynamic), production of cellular materials, etc. DAPS members are in permanent and close contact with civil and defence applications. Established national and international cooperations are fundamental to achieve our research objectives. DAPS members are available to cooperate with both industrial and academic partners.
